We have found Fazoli’s to be a reliable choice when we need to eat out. We have been on vacation, stuck running errands with children that are getting hungry and cranky and visiting relatives that are not familiar to our family’s eating needs. We have been to several of these chain restaurants in at least four different states. The management has always been friendly, helpful and attentive to what we need.
We order the children’s pasta with marina sauce on the side. This way our daughter can dip the pasta in the sauce if she chooses. We can also order the grilled chicken breast as an add-on item. Most recently we have found that we can order plain bread sticks as well. This has worked out so well. Our entire family is able to get a meal that we enjoy (and is safe).
As always, we have our Nice’n Clean antibacterial wipes on hand for wiping down the chair(s), table and whatever else might be within reach.
Overall, Fazoli’s is a good place to eat for the whole family - including a milk-allergy kid!

Well, we asked the people at Steak ‘N Shake how they prepare their food and more specifically, what is in the food. We found out that they are strict on how they separate the cooking stations. The milk shake maker only makes milk shakes, the steakburger person only works the steakburger grill, etc. Didn’t seem like cross-contamination would be a problem. The manager was very helpful with providing the content of the various food items they offered. So we presented our case regarding our daughter with the anaphylactic milk allergy and they said she could eat the kids’ Jr. Chili Mac (which is simply a smaller portion of the Chili 3-Way). Our daughter ate half of it (she got full) without a trace of topical reaction. So far, no reaction to the food at all! It is really cool when we find another place we can get food for the ENTIRE family!

We went on a family outing to Pratzel’s Bakery to see about some dairy-free goodies. Boy were we surprised! A whole bakery full of traditional baked goods and not a drop of milk anywhere. After I told the kind lady working behind the counter that we had learned about them from a Channel 9 show called Living St. Louis, she produced two donut holes for the girls. I held the donut for Caroline and let her take bites. I watched her closely for any allergic reaction and nothing happened. She ate the whole thing and not a spot on her. Whew! So we picked out a few things to take home and then checked out the rest of the store. Pratzel’s is actually a department of Kohn’s Market. They had a large variety of kosher and dairy-free products and meats. Needless to say, we will be shoping there often.
